Knowing that we function better when we’re growing and developing, what’s your plan now?

A old car, which is falling apart, stuck in the middle of a field. It’s very easy to get stuck in a rut. Without realising it, we can suddenly find ourselves stagnating in a routine which, if we’re honest, is rarely satisfying. Or, at least, is not as satisfying as it could be. We’re designed to be explorers, seeking out the new and the different. Contrarily, we then allow ourselves to fall into repeating patterns of behaviour. And we wonder, then, why we’re not really having the best of times. Therefore, knowing that we function better when we’re growing and developing, what’s your plan now?

A fashion show, with two models wearing highly decorated dressesThe human instinct to seek more is often seen in purely materialistic terms. We have to have the latest phone, the fashionable clothes, the designer lifestyle. And for some, that is the way forward. The pursuit for the latest trend is what keeps some motivated and moving forward.

For others it’s about achieving more, which can be in any area of life. Maybe you’re career-driven, constantly seeking the next step up on the career ladder. It’s possibly about having the next adventure with family and friends. There’s a possibility it’s about reaching a new sporting best. For some, it’s all about reading the next book, seeing the next film, or mastering the latest video game. And, of course, there are those who are planning the next course to complete, the next class to attend, an additional learning experience.

You can, of course, stay in your rut. You can convince yourself that your 9 to 5 lifestyle is working for you. Additionally, you may reassure yourself that your routine, which is tried and tested, is reassuringly safe. That is absolutely your call.

Alternatively, you may want to think about what you could do differently. What, if you really had to, would you want to do to add something new to your life? Where do you start?

A pile of chains held shut with a locked padlock. However, the key is in the lockHow do you feel about the possibility? If you find yourself with feelings of dread and angst, now may not be the time. However, if you felt a frisson of anticipation at the thought of stepping up and stepping into something new, what’s the next step? Remember, that first step can be as big or small as you’re slightly uncomfortable with it being. Because the first step leads to the second, and then the third. And then suddenly you’re up and running.

So, if you know what to do, do it now. If you’re not sure, then book a free consultation here, and then take the next step. You know that you can do it, and you know that it makes sense, don’t you?
