Overcoming Anxiety.

Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.

Introduction to Overcoming Anxiety.

Overcoming Anxiety is a toolkit of simple steps to overcome anxiety, allowing you to take back control. Firstly, anxiety impacts on all aspects of life, from career and well-being to relationships and life-choices. Secondly, anxiety, ranging from the mildest symptoms to almost complete emotional paralysis, can and does affect a significant number of people. And finally, the number of people living with some form of anxiety seems to be progressively increasing. Data from Champion Health indicates that:

  • In any given week in England, 6 in 100 people will be diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder (Mind)
  • In the UK, over 8 million people are experiencing an anxiety disorder at any one time (Mental Health UK)
  • Less than 50% of people with generalised anxiety disorder access treatment (Mental Health Foundation)
  • An estimated 822,000 workers are affected by work-related stress, depression or anxiety every year (Health and Safety Executive)

The Overcoming Anxiety Toolkit.

A hand, reaching out, for simple steps to take back controlI developed Overcoming Anxiety as a result of working with many people with anxiety. I am aware of just how debilitating it can be, with symptoms ranging from a mild sense of unease to feelings of being completely overwhelmed. Indeed, I’ve coached people who are completely unable to function or control the emotion (more about symptoms here). I’ve met people who, as a consequence of anxiety, are significantly limiting their life choices. Consequently, the Overcoming Anxiety toolkit of simple steps works with the mind and body, tapping into what we do naturally.

Anxiety has many causes; some linked to specific situations and events, others linked to poor physical and mental health (and if you want to read more about causes, you can do so here). The Overcoming Anxiety toolkit introduces a range of simple tools and techniques which allow you to take back control and manage your anxiety. They are simple steps to overcome anxiety and increase opportunity. The techniques work, whatever the causes and whatever the symptoms you experience as a result of anxiety.

Just imagine how that feels. Just imagine doing what you want to do, having what you want to have, and being who you want to be. In control. On track. Moving forward. And just imagine having the skills and confidence to be the real you, to be more, to be differently.

Everything that I do is underpinned by NLP, hypnosis, and coaching techniques. I will only use hypnosis if you consent to such an intervention. All the techniques which I use are designed to give you control and increase your choices.

The Overcoming Anxiety Sessions.

In each of our sessions I introduce new tools and techniques, with time to understand and to practise, as well as time to ask questions. You will have access to your own password-protected page which includes recordings of all of the techniques so that you can listen again as often as you want. Your page also includes notes from our sessions, plus any other information which may assist you as you regain control and move into a new model of the world.
