If you really understand the powerful link between our minds, language and actions, how much better is life?

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that NLP underpins all of the work that I do as a coach. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) as a concept has been with us since the 1970s, the work of John Grinder and Richard Bandler. And describing it as a concept is somewhat misleading. It is so much more than that. It is a way of understanding the world around us. Critically, it is a way of navigating that world to best effect for us and those around us. So, ask yourself. If you really understand the powerful link between our minds, language and actions, how much better is life?

A photograph of our planet from space, showing the blue of the oceans, the greens and browns of the land, with swirls of cloud. We know so much and we can understand so much more as we learn and growNLP gives us the ability to understand how we experience the world. Firstly, it gives us explanations and understanding of how we process, store, and recall our experiences. Secondly, we learn techniques to challenge our experiences, our decisions, our actions, and our current model of the world. Additionally, it shows us how to analyse and understand the processes we follow to do what we do. Finally, it provides us with tools to change our thinking, change our behaviour and change our world.

A wooden building set, with partially built items. This shows the building blocks to something better. So, we learn how this all works. Subsequently, we master the processes and techniques which allow us to analyse it all. We can then change what gives us outcomes which are different from the outcomes we actually want. At the same time, we can reinforce and build on all of the positive outcomes that we do want. Ultimately, we can move from where we are now into a new model of the world with greater choice and more opportunities. Suddenly, we find ourselves with outcomes that work for us and those around us. It’s win-win all round.

The first step is understanding. Not so much understanding NLP, although it’s a great step further down the line. This is about understanding what you gain through NLP. If you already know, get on and make it happen. If you’re not sure, book an initial consultation here, and then take the next step. You know that you can do it, and you know that it makes sense, don’t you?
